Afghan girl in refugee camp

Here is a haunting image of an Afghan girl in refugee camp captured by a National Geographic photographer two decades ago. It becomes an icon of the country's suffering. Peace is nowhere to be seen at the time of this writing.

Those eyes feel like my eyes, though I haven't seen the horror she has...
Thank you for your comment on my blog. It's my first blog. I have this ratty old pocket book and tiny camera that I carry with me everywhere. To document stuff, life I guess. I've often wondered if anyone reads it. Thanks for reading it. I'll stay tuned on yours as well.

Hi Linda,
Thx for dropping by. I love The Kite Runner I've just read and therefore follow the "my favorite book" link to see how others thought about it.

Hi Beer Flower,
Did you hear about the story that National Geographic looked up the nameless girl 20 years after (i.e. few years ago). She survived, married and have 3 children now.

Keith, ya i knew it. who is the famous photographer that took this pix? forgotten...errrr!

another thing just strike me - PIX speak louder than words!!! i guess this is how "Media" can actually "manipulate" /abused the power of PIX.

Hi Keith, I am back ...

Yes, I remember the original haunting picture and also read the follow-up article written 20 some years later. A girl has become a woman and how fast time flies.
