Leona Helmsley's Dog

The infamous NY billionaire Leona Hemsely died last week. When she was on trial for tax evasion in the late eighties, her maids and other workers had their days coming forward to testify how she terrorized the “little people” as she called them. The news media coined the nickname “Queen of Mean” and it stuck (she portrayed herself as the queen of the luxury hotels she owned in her TV ads). In her will, she left her dog $12 millions but nothing to two of the children of her late son. It doesn’t take a Sigmund Freud to figure out what she loved or who loved her.

I read abt the so-called Queen of Mean's passing away but didn't realize she had been taking a dislike of her grandchildren as well (not that I always equate money with love, but in her case, yes).

I read the story from New York Times. Then Time Magazine editorial commented if the $12 million translate to dog-money (multiply by 7), the dog is like the Bill Gates of dogs. :-)

But the EU will never fine a dog of equal value, only Bill Gates ;-)
